May 21st is officially Hodag Day.
Governor Tony Evers made the official proclamation Friday.
“No matter where you’re from, the Hodag is a key part of our culture, identity, and heritage,” Evers said in a YouTube video announcement.
There will be a Hodag Heritage Ceremony Friday to celebrate the official Hodag Day Designation.
It’s at 4:00 p.m. Friday at Pioneer Park in Rhinelander. There will be activities at the park from 3:00 to 5:00 including a parked parade.
