Oneida County Sheriff's Office

A man charged in the death of a Rhinelander woman will undergo a competency exam.

Seth Wakefield, 24, is facing a homicide charge in the death of Hannah Miller. Miller was found shot to death outside the City of Rhinelander on June 30.

Police are still searching for the main suspect, Christopher Terrell Anderson.

According to court documents, Wakefield told police he helped Anderson in the planning of Miller’s death and was aware Anderson was leaving his apartment on the morning of the 30th with the intent to kill Miller.

Wakefield is charged with 1st Degree Intentional Homicide as Party to a Crime.

He appeared in Oneida County Court via video Tuesday for a preliminary hearing. The prelim was not conducted. Instead, Wakefield’s attorney requested a competency exam.

Judge O’Melia found probable cause in the case and order one or more doctors to evaluate Wakefield.

The competency hearing is set for August 5th.
