Nonprofits of the Northwoods: The Handbook on Northwoods Land Conservation

Partners in Forestry

The Northwood Alliance and Partners in Forestry are two local organizations that strive to conserve land in the Northwoods.

They operate under the belief that conserving land today will lead to environmental, economic, social and intrinsic benefits in the future.

To that end, they collaborated to produce three handbooks on Northwoods Forest Conservation.

Listen to the full interview with the author, Joe Hovel, to learn more about what’s inside these handbooks.

The Northwoods Forest Conservation Handbooks are free and available to everyone, although donations are welcome to help offset the cost of production. To get a copy, email  nwa@nnex.net or partnersinforestry@gmail.com. More information is available at the Northwoods Alliance and Partners in Forestry websites.

WXPR’s Nonprofits of the Northwoods spotlights organizations in our area that are working to strengthen the community – whether that’s by lending a hand to someone in need, educating about the arts, or caring for the environment.

Erin Gottsacker worked at WXPR as a Morning Edition host and reporter from December 2020 to January 2023. During her time at the station, Erin reported on the issues that matter most in the Northwoods.
