Lincoln County Sheriff's Office investigates series of local thefts

Lincoln County Sheriff Facebook

Sheriff’s deputies in Lincoln County are investigating multiple thefts from rural areas.

WSAU Radio reports the list of incidents includes:

  • A Town of Merrill resident had power tools and a generator stolen from his residence on Lincoln Drive.
  • A Town of Wilson man says his DR brush trimmer and a go-kart were stolen from his property on Hillside Road
  • Car ramps and a chrome jack stand were taken from property on Alber Road in the Town of Bradley
  • A Christmas Tree farmer reported having over 1,000 pounds of boughs (tree branches) stolen from his farm on County Road H
  • An undisclosed list of items were taken in a burglary at Northway Storage in the Town of Merrill

Officials didn’t specify what day of the week the thefts occurred on, and haven’t said if any of the incidents may be related or if there are any suspects.

It’s the third time in several weeks that the Sheriff’s office has reported multiple incidents of theft in the same week.

In late September there were reports of street signs being stolen in Tomahawk and a resident reported having a utility trailer stolen.

Then, two weeks ago, a propane tank and log splitter were stolen in two separate incidents. There was also a report of several items stolen out of storage units located in the Town of Merrill.

Anyone with information about any of the incidents is asked to call the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at 715-536-3726 or upload tips using the P3 app for smartphones and tablets. You could be eligible for a cash reward if your tip leads to an arrest.
