Every year, the Lions club collects thousands of deer pelts which they then turn around and sell to be turned into leather

Hunters registered roughly 92,000 deer statewide during opening weekend. That’s down about 16% from last year.

The season kicks off at sunrise on Saturday and closes on the evening of Sunday, Nov. 26.
