If you’re headed to a local parade this Fourth of July, you might be greeted by the booming sound of the Northwoods Marching Band. The 430-member high school mega-band will fill the streets of Three Lakes, Eagle River, Lake Tomahawk, Minocqua, Tomahawk and Antigo. Then, they’ll march on to an even bigger parade this January.

High school seniors are getting ready to graduate, but in Wisconsin, fewer are packing their bags for college. Instead, local high school administrators say they’re noticing more students pursue certifications or enter directly into the workforce.
