The City of Tomahawk is considering the construction of a new facility to address the presence of potentially harmful chemicals in the city’s water supply, and this week, the city’s Common Council took a step towards seeking funding that would help make the project a reality.

The City of Tomahawk and a local developer are seeking state grant funds to help repurpose a downtown building that has been vacant for 15 years.

This weekend, The Butcher and the Baker in Brantwood will host BBQ for the Brave, an event benefiting Northwoods Veterans Homestead near Rhinelander.

During its meeting at City Hall on Tuesday, Nov. 12, the City of Tomahawk Common Council voted to direct City Clerk/Treasurer Amanda Bartz to draft a resolution that, if approved by the council, will place an advisory referendum on April ballots asking City of Tomahawk voters if they believe the city should end fluoride treatments of city water.
