The League of Women Voters of the Northwoods hosted a reception Tuesday morning for the seven women elected to the Oneida County Board this spring.

The republican from Rhinelander represents the 34th assembly district which covers Oneida and Vilas Counties.

Both announce they will not be on the ballot in the fall

Over the last decade, Wisconsin's spring electorate has shifted more liberal.

The cities of Rhinelander, Merrill, and Tomahawk all had contested races on the April 7 ballot.

The district asked voters if they approved increasing the revenue limit by $1.25 million for the next three years to help cover operational costs.

Democratic-backed candidate Chris Taylor has won election to the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Her victory Tuesday grows the liberal majority on the court as cases affecting congressional redistricting, union rights and other hot button issues await.

Polls closed at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7 for the 2026 Spring Election.

Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

In their only debate before Tuesday’s election, judges Maria Lazar and Chris Taylor sought to paint the other as extreme.
